About

Our Story

Mountfield is a small village in East Sussex, about 2 miles north of Battle and one of the main sites for British Gypsum. Originally the club was on the British Gypsum site for the employees at the plant their families and friends and was known as British Gypsum Tennis Club. Over the years the contact at the company was lost, the sports facilities on site closed down and the club moved to the Vinehall site and the name was changed to Mountfield Tennis Club.

The club team competes in the first division of the Mixed Wealden Tennis League.
